Instructing

UK Snowsports provides courses and qualifications ranging from working with novices through to advanced participants in each discipline.

Candidates would normally start their development as an instructor and then as a coach by completing the Level 1 Training Course in the discipline of their choice.

Candidates progress through the awards from levels 1 upwards.

Level 1 Candidate Instructors will gain instructing experience under the supervision of a qualified Level 2 Instructor on artificial slopes.

Level 1 Instructor Award trains and qualifies candidates to work with novice participants on artificial slopes.

Level 2 Instructor Award trains and qualifies candidates to work with advanced participants on artificial slopes.

Level 3 Coach Award trains and qualifies candidates to work with a local artificial ski centre, It is envisaged that a level 3 coach is likely to make a significant contribution to the development of New Coaches.

Level 4 Coach Award trains and qualifies candidates to work with club recreational participants in an alpine environment and prepares candidates as tutors for UK Snowsports courses.

Candidates with qualifications gained through other bodies can apply to join the scheme at an appropriate level. See downloadable document – Where do I Fit In?
